Automatic Hand Dryers for School Bathrooms
Learn the ABC’s of Automatic Hand Dryers for Schools
Schools must start thinking about how best to update their facilities over the summer before the next school year. Hygiene and decarbonization are important for educational facilities to keep in mind when choosing the best products for their buildings. Excel Dryer can help keep students’ hands clean with their full line of touchless, hygienic hand dryers. So, sit back and get ready to learn as we explain the ABCs of hand hygiene.
A is for Automatic Sensors
The “new normal” post-coronavirus is still evolving, but one thing is for sure: hand hygiene will continue to play a crucial role. When touch can be avoided, so can germs, making touchless solutions—including toilets, sinks, and hand dryers—necessary for all elementary, middle, and high school environments.
B is for Budget Benefits
Schools aren’t just crowded areas, they are crowded areas filled with children and teenagers, which equates to both more paper towel use and more maintenance to keep restrooms clean. Paper towels are surprisingly costly when compares with hand dryers, with a life cycle that includes harvesting from trees, truck transportation, a pulping process, restroom use, and delivery to a landfill. Opting for an XLERATOR can provide a 95% cost savings over paper towels, completely eliminating the labor, maintenance, and waste associated with the latter.
C is for Customization
Want to show your school spirit? Excel Dryer offers the most cover finishes and options in the industry with Kolorfusion technology, which has been adopted by Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, the New England Patriots, and many more. The zinc die-cast models can be painted with any custom color powder coat DuPont® paint color, while stainless steel covers can be customized with digital images and PVD coatings.
D is for Decreased Carbon Footprint
While creating cleaner, more hygienic restrooms, we also work alongside educational facilities to advance the goals of transparency and environmental responsibility. To this end, we initiated and chaired the first global Product Category Rule (PCR) with UL Environment, establishing an internationally recognized set of rules and requirements to test and report a product’s effect on the environment.
We were also the first hand dryer manufacturer to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on our products to see how long they need to operate before going in a landfill. The study determined that the XLERATOR® Hand Dryer reduces the carbon footprint of hand drying by 50%–75% when compared to traditional electric hand dryers and paper towels.
E is for Electrostatic HEPA Filtration
Excel’s hand dryers are the only ones with electrostatic HEPA filtration on the market. These more durable HEPA filters are proven to remove 99.999% of viruses and 99.97% of bacteria from the airstream. Traditional fiberglass media HEPA filters are typically made from fragile Borosilicate glass microfiber, which is prone to tearing. The Electrostatic HEPA filters are made from polypropylene, a robust thermoplastic material that provides enhanced durability. Now available in all Excel hand dryer models, this will provide your restroom with the most hygienic solution that will last a long time.
