Which Solution and Why?
Excel Dryer offers a diverse selection of American-made, energy efficient, cost-saving hand dryers to meet the varied requirements and preferences of a broad range of industries.
Restaurant and healthcare facility restrooms will likely prioritize accessibility and hygiene, for example, while museums, colleges, hotels and government facilities might place a higher premium on aesthetics, saving space, energy efficiency or domestic manufacturing. Whatever the need, there is an Excel dryer to fit the bill.
American-Made Hand Dryers
Excel Dryer offers the only hand dryers on the market that are Made in USA Certified. American-made products are sought after by many businesses and help support local communities with job creation, fair wages and quality control. Excel hand dryers are manufactured in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, USA, and meet the criteria defining domestic end product outlined by the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA):
- The article must be manufactured in the United States; and
- The cost of the domestic components that are mined, produced, or manufactured must exceed 55 percent of the cost of all components.
The BABAA seeks to restrict the purchase of supplies that are not domestic end products for use within the United States. Excel’s hand dryers are more than 75% of domestic components.
Excel Dryer received a Schedule Contract from the General Services Administration (GSA), which manages government buildings and real estate, provides product and service procurement support and develops policies and regulations. The GSA selected Excel hand dryers because they are Made in USA Certified, energy efficient, cost-saving and help reduce the post-consumer waste stream (aka “source reduction”).1 GSA recognition allows government facilities to purchase products at a discount that will contribute to goals like energy efficiency and domestic manufacturing.
Government Facilities
Government facility managers pay special attention to sourcing American-made and GSA-certified products. This includes the U.S. military, embassies, Department of Defense, Departments of Administration, Departments of Education and Departments of Transportation. Excel hand dryers’ energy efficiency saves government facilities thousands of dollars per year versus paper towels, helping them meet stringent budgetary requirements. The hand dryers contribute to improved restroom hygiene and cleanliness and provide fast drying times to manage high volumes of restroom users. Thanks to the GSA Schedule Contract, government facilities are able to request GSA pricing for Excel hand dryers, contributing further toward cost savings.
How to Choose the Proper Hand Dryer
Each facility has its own specific needs and requirements, based on regulations, corporate goals, user demographics and industry standards. Here are a few examples of facility types across industries and the Excel hand dryer that will suit their needs.
College Campuses: ThinAir® with eHEPA®
College restrooms can be high-traffic areas, making space, speed and hygiene top priorities in selecting a hand dryer. Excel’s ThinAir with eHEPA meets the ADA’s maximum 4” protrusion requirement when surface mounted—a win not only for accessibility, but for any restroom in which space is at a premium. The ThinAir’s 14-second dry time makes for steady traffic flow and helps avoid backups at washing stations. Electric hand dryers eliminate messy paper towel waste, while eHEPA filtration eliminates 99.999% of viruses and 99.97% of potentially present bacteria at 0.3 microns from the airstream. Sustainability goals are supported by ThinAir’s cost-saving energy efficiency, which can help facilities earn LEED and WELL points and significantly lower the overall carbon footprint of campus restrooms.
Museums and Libraries: XLERATOR® with Custom Covers
Customize the XLERATOR with artwork and bring the themes and aesthetics of a museum or library through to the restroom environment. Excel’s exclusive digital image technology places your artwork, logos or messaging front-and-center for a fully customized visitor experience. Museums have the option to feature detailed images from their collection, for example, while libraries might opt for book art or author portraits. The possibilities are virtually endless! Excel recently partnered with Artists For Humanity in Boston, placing custom artwork on the hand drying stations in their LEED Platinum Certified headquarters, all designed by the program’s teen artists. The result was a visually stunning display that showcases the organization’s artistic aesthetic and instills a sense of pride and ownership in the program’s teen participants.
High-End Hotels: The D|VERSE Sink System with XLERATORsync®
In the world of high-end hospitality, attention must be paid to even the smallest detail to provide guests with the desired elevated experience. The all-in-one, touchless D|VERSE Sink System situates the XLERATORsync Hand Dryer on the sink deck alongside the soap dispenser and faucet to create a cohesive 30″ unit. This cohesion allows users to wash, rinse and dry hands all in one place, with zero touchpoints—contributing to restroom cleanliness and hygiene. Turnkey availability for quick and easy purchase and speedy turnaround installation makes for an easy but impactful upgrade, and the entire organization benefits from energy efficiency and cost savings.
