Boston Harbor High Rise

The D|13 Group Collaborates With Top Architects And Designers To
Create A Model In Green Technology

With its faceted glass exterior and panoramic harbor views, a new headquarters for a leading Massachusetts company is a spectacular addition to the Fan
Pier neighborhood in Boston’s famous seaport.

Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed in partnership with The Fallon Company, the 17-story, 310,000-square-foot building is a model in green
technology. It is LEED Platinum certified and its use of natural resources is 70% less than the regional office building average.

With wellness rooms, open-air terraces, abundant natural light, live plants and trees, and numerous other amenities, the space is designed to foster a
collaborative, flexible and inclusive culture for the company’s onsite employees.

Leading-Edge Aesthetics—From The Boardrooms To The Restrooms

The commitment to sustainability, user experience, and forward-thinking technology extends to every part of the building. To complement the building’s leading-edge aesthetic and sensibility, architects and designers collaborated with D|13 to install 120 integrated sink systems in their restrooms.

“When you talk about the overall design of a building, the restroom in the past has been an afterthought,” says John Freitas, General Manager of the D|13 Group. “Not anymore.”

In addition to their state-of-the-art features and amenities, all restrooms are single-occupancy and gender-neutral—promoting maximum safety, comfort, and social distancing.

“Our goal is to provide an innovative, user-friendly system that people feel comfortable using,” Freitas continues. “The next evolution of the sink was to bring the touchless, wall-mounted dryer off the wall and to the deck with the other fixtures.”

The Ultimate Touchless
User Experience

The D|13 Sink System, featuring the XLERATORsync Hand Dryer, is the future of commercial restrooms. In addition to a 95% cost savings, it offers up to an 81% carbon footprint reduction versus even 100% recycled paper.

It also reduces touch points and eliminates soiled, discarded paper towels— promoting superior hygienic standards.

A masterpiece of form and function, the system seamlessly fuses no-touch, high-efficiency fixtures on the sink deck, allowing the user to wash and dry hands all in one place. This provides the ultimate touchless user experience in the building’s restrooms.

Reverse Airflow. Forward Thinking.

In addition to the sleek, intuitive design, what sets the D|13 Sink System apart is the XLERATORsync Hand Dryer.

Designed in collaboration with Excel Dryer and a world-renowned design firm, the dryer’s “reverse airflow” design blows air/water flow away from the user, promoting hygiene and enhancing the restroom experience.

Additional dryer features include adjustable sound, speed and heat controls, LED illumination, and an Electrostatic HEPA (eHEPA® ) Filtration System proven to remove 99.999% of viruses from the airstream 1.

“Excel Dryer is a wonderful partner,” says Freitas. “Their design of the XLERATORsync Hand Dryer is paramount to what we do.”

A Design-Assist Partner

The D|13 Sink System helps architects and designers to transform the aesthetic of the restroom environment.

The building’s systems employ quartz countertops, solid surface basin sinks with integrated pivot drain covers, and architectural-grade plumbing enclosures, but the customizable design options are adaptable to any restroom—from traditional to contemporary.

More than a supplier, D|13 is a design-assist partner working directly with owners, architects, designers, and the trades to create the most sustainable, efficient, luxurious restroom experience on the planet. All orders are purchased and shipped directly, providing a one-on-one customer service experience.

“We thrive on being a collaborative company,” Freitas says. “Both with our employees and with our customers and clients.”
