Electrostatic HEPA Hand Dryer FAQ
What is the life expectancy of the Electrostatic HEPA filter? The life of a eHEPA filter depends on the environment in which the dryer is installed and the frequency of use. High usage or excessive dust/lint in the air will require more frequent replacement of the eHEPA filter. As a guide, when the eHEPA filter shows a buildup of lint, dust & debris or if you experience a reduced air flow, the filter should be replaced. We recommend inspecting annually.
How is the Electrostatic HEPA filter replaced? With the removal of 2 screws, one can easily remove and replace the eHEPA filter into its frame and then reinstall.
Can the Electrostatic HEPA filter be cleaned? If so, how? No. Cleaning the eHEPA Filter is not an option. You can clean the pre-filter at least twice per year to prolong the life of the filter.
How much is a replacement Electrostatic HEPA filter? Manufacturer’s suggested list price is $80.
What is the warranty on the Electrostatic HEPA filtration system? One year against manufacturing defects.
How do I know if my existing XLERATOR®/XLERATOReco® Hand Dryers can be retrofitted with a Electrostatic HEPA filtration system? If your dryer has a #40102 or #40103 control or has a Serial 370656 or higher, your dryer can accept a eHEPA retrofit kit.
Will my existing ThinAir Hand Dryers be able to be retrofitted with an Electrostatic HEPA filtration system? In order to have an existing ThinAir hand dryer updated with Electrostatic HEPA a new subassembly would need to be purchased and installed.
Since XLERATOR/XLERATOReco Hand Dryers with an Electrostatic HEPA filtration system remove 99.999% of viruses from the airstream, is my hand dryer without an Electrostatic HEPA filtration system safe for people to use? All dryers from Excel are a hygienic hand drying solution, but those with eHEPA filtration add another level of protection.
