Manufactured in the U.S.A., the hand dryer company also holds a Schedule Contract by the GSA – # GS-07F-0017T
East Longmeadow, Mass. – The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (also known as the Stimulus Bill) has been approved and includes an estimated $4.5 billion to convert and renovate federal facilities into high-performance, green buildings. This puts companies like Excel Dryer, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of the high-speed, energy efficient XLERATOR® hand dryer, in prime position to help government contractors and architects make restrooms in federal buildings more environmentally friendly.
In a recent testimony before the House, GSA Acting Administrator Paul Prouty indicated that the administration would look for opportunities to go green in a ‘quick and cost effective’ manor. He cited examples such as adding insulation to existing buildings, installing variable speed drives, converting parking garages to LED lighting, replacing windows and adding low flow restroom fixtures.
The Stimulus Bill’s objectives are both to improve the U.S. economy and help ‘green’ U.S. government facilities. Installation of high-speed hand dryers such as XLERATOR will lower the carbon footprint of any federal facility and yield a payback period of less than one year. In addition, XLERATOR is the only hand dryer that is MADE in USA CERTIFIED™, ensuring Stimulus Bill money continues to support American manufacturers.
Unlike conventional hand dryers, which average 30 to 45 seconds of drying time, Excel Dryer’s XLERATOR hand dryer completely dries hands 3 times faster (in 10 seconds) and uses 80% less energy than conventional hand dryers. XLERATOR also delivers a 95% cost savings when compared to paper towels, is the first hand dryer to achieve GreenSpec® listing and helps facilities qualify for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Excel is also the first hand dryer manufacturer to be awarded a Schedule Contract by the General Services Administration offering reduced prices to the government. XLERATOR is MADE in USA CERTIFIED™, energy efficient, represents a major cost savings and is an excellent source reduction alternative. Under the Schedules Program (also referred to as Multiple Award Schedules and Federal Supply Schedules), the GSA establishes long-term government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide access to over 10 million commercial supplies and services at volume discount prices.
“With new grants approved daily, federal contractors, architects, and specifiers are looking for products that meet a high level of environmental standards and can be easily installed into new facilities or retrofitted into older ones,” said William Gagnon, director of marketing, Excel Dryer, Inc. “The Schedule Contract also ensures federal contractors that XLERATOR meets the GSA’s stringent price and quality guidelines, while promoting better environmental responsibility.”
Currently, XLERATOR is installed in a variety of busy, high traffic restrooms, including high-profile federal destinations such as the United States Green Building Council’s headquarters in Washington D.C., several facilities in the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard and several U.S. international airports. XLERATOR is also the official hand dryer specification of the U.S. Navy vessels.
